What does Raison D'être?

about Raison D'être & What we do

We are a group of professionals & corporations with different expertises who would proactively like to build a small eco-village in Shizuoka, Japan. We would integrate our skills & expertises and apply them to the city innovation in Shizuoka region. Our like minded members are constituted of various professions including international urban tastemakers & innovators / music labels / entertainers / musicians / environment activists / architects / and non-governmental organizations in and around Tokyo.

Sustainable Alternative Living in Japan

At a Suruga Creator Eco Village, we are planning to build a village in Shizuoka, our members, entrepreneurs, local residents, artists and musicians will live together. We are going to provide housing and accommodation facilities made with bamboo trees and a live concert stage for entertainment.

Our Missions and Objectives

A Pathway to a sustainable future in Shizuoka - Suruga

Missions of Suruga Creator Eco-Village are to :

(1) Spread the concept of the sustainability in the local community in Japan through our workshops and online media channels. (2) Be creative to develop various music related new business models and to integrate them with philanthropic and environmental projects. (3) Preserve Japanese Cultural heritages and make them sustainable. The world we are now in is on the brink of radical climate changes and global economic chaos. Therefore, we attempt to find our own sustainable solutions to ever increasing issues we are currently confronted with. The focus areas of sustainability are the following :

Objective One : Sustainability for our activities

Needless to say, openness, sincerity, trust, collaboration are essential factors for the village community. Suruga Creator Eco-Village offers a strong sense of belonging to each one of our members by setting shared projects, goals, all processes and tasks with the empowerment of participatory leadership and governance in a democratic manner. This can be facilitated by the usage of the blockchain backed voting system for any matters regarding the governance issues of the village and this helps to develop a fair, effective and accountable institution.

Objective Two : Sustainability for Culture and Art

Suruga Creator Eco-Village project attempts to develop and facilitate diverse cultures to empower members and to care for each others, their communities and our planet Earth. The project is designed so that people will be able to participate with many events and workshops that will enables them to feel profoundly and compassionately connected to each other and to the planet and even to the mother nature - Gaia. We deeply consider that participation in art events, live concerts, DJ dance events. Traditional expressions of any form of arts are focal points to our essential spiritualities, community group consciousness, and human life as a whole. We hence design them in order for us to connect with each higher purpose of life in harmony, to nurture compassion and unconditional love for others as well as personal growth, to respect traditions and customs that support human dignity, and to respect for diversity while nurturing the unity consciousness.

Objective Three : Sustainability for Ecological System

We respect five integral elements of the universe defined in Buddhism : fire, water, sky, air and earth. The ecological sustainability of the village will integrate human life with the rest of nature in a ways that we would increase biodiversity and regenerate ecosystems in the village, and members will be able to identify the magnificent self as a part of the nature and their interdependence with those essential elements of the universe. Specifically, we will innovate and spread Japanese traditional art motif inspired by Bamboo tree building technology with a certified architect, move toward free and renewable energies and implement a zero waste and zero footprint policy.

Objective Four : Sustainability of local economy

Japan has suffered from the lingering economic recession for more than two decades. Local economies are now severely shrinking. The standard of life gradually has deteriorated. Hence, we proactively contribute to sharing of resources, mutual supports with local authorities and networks that serve the needs of local people in Shizuoka and its economy. Our activities work to provide sustainable alternatives to the mainstream economy and reclaim ways of thinking about wealth and progress that include all aspects of life. Local token currencies, sharing economy, social entrepreneurship, collaborative forms of ownership are central to us like many other eco-village projects. We cultivate social entrepreneurship to create sustainable solutions for local economy, work for equitable ownership of properties, invest in fair trade and ethical system of the exchange.

Raison D'être Project, initiated by Nirvana Consultant KK was founded in 2018 and we offered various IT and entertainment services to local NPOs and now we are building our own community in order to build the Suruga Creator Eco-Village which facilitates sustainable living, holds environmental preservation and cultural workshops as well as live music entertainment. In 2019, the project as a whole has been certified as a Beyond 2020 project by the national cabinet.

Raison D'être hosted a charity gala party for one of the most well known international humanitariam non-profit organization.

Artist Dispatch Started

We started to manage musicians as a label and dispatch them to charity related events, In addition to this, we started music production as well as music related software developments.

Community Building

First Step

As a first step, we are going to host live events and workshops to develop a like-minded community in and around Tokyo and the target area in Shizuoka simultaneously. In addition, we start a fund-raising for the project managements and assocaited expenses to keep us going forward

Second Step

While we facilitate the community growth, we start to look for the site premise and design the facility with an architect. In this phase, we aim to construct a few accomodation facilities & housings as well as live stages all made from bamboo tree and "Washi", traditional Japanese Paper

Money we raise for this project

We have multiple objectives including the contruction of the site and raise public awareness of the sustainability issues that Japan is confronted with. In the embryonic phase of this project, we are initially focusing on events which vary from small-to-mid sized workshop events about sustainability and climate changes to large scale live festivals. Once we earned enough funding in the form of membership fees, we will start the site construction.
